While I'm not a spicy author, this was a heavily requested prequel for the Cruel Origins series. The series itself has no spice at all... so don't consider this what one should expect from the trilogy. The story, however, is absolutely canon.

The Cruelty of Love follows Haffi—the Prince of Dwaharim—and the spear maiden he loves by the name of Laffiena. Their dwarven culture stands in the way of expressing their commitment to each other as a threat gathers around the city. Will love conquor all, or show its cruelty?
