Sebastian Kalwij was born in the Netherlands and studied Medicine in Amsterdam. During the last stages of his studies he got involved in a Public Health project in El Salvador. After gaining his MD he moved to London in 1994 to work in various hospital departments. He completed a Masters degree in the Control of Infectious Diseases at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and completed his GP specialisation in 1999. Over the last 17 years he combined working in his practice with working at sea with Saga as a cruise ships doctor. During his life he has been a keen traveller and some of his adventures have been a source of inspiration for his novels. The first book he published was called Supercharged in 2015 and this year he published An Impossible Escape.
