At the end of a long, lonely road, halfway between Louisiana and the land of the dead, lies a city named Twilight. It's a home to humans, vampires, ghosts, and high-functioning zombies. It is a place of magic, mystery... and murder.

A body is found on the fifth floor of the Hotel Tinselvania, sucked completely dry. It is the latest in a string of murders that happen every 17 years for as far back as anyone, even the vampires, can remember--and someone doesn't want anyone to remember. Articles from the newspapers about the previous murders have all vanished from the local library.

The victim is always a friend of the hotel owner's son, a boy who turns 17 every year, forgetting everything that happened on his birthday and never aging.

Can anyone save him and end the murders? Sandra Abbandonado, the hotel manager, is determined to try.
