Lyra Evangeline Solis writes cozy fantasy for readers who believe the most powerful magic in any story is the ordinary, hard-won kind — the courage to forgive, to stay, to let yourself be loved on purpose.

She grew up in a small town an hour and a half south of Chicago, the kind of place where everyone's business is everyone else's business — something she suspects planted the earliest seeds of her love for small-town stories long before she ever sat down to write one. She studied at Olivet Nazarene University, where she earned her MBA in Strategic Leadership, and has spent the years since chasing every creative outlet she can get her hands on: piano, flute, singing, painting, crafting, and — eventually — the kind of storytelling that lets her build a whole world out of a kitchen table and a grandmother's secret. She's the oldest of her biological siblings, though squarely a middle child once her whole blended family is counted, which she'll tell you explains quite a lot about her personality, and she comes from a big family that taught her early on just how much love a full house can actually hold.

Her stories tend to grow out of a single image — a buried ring, a flour-dusted table, a lynx who's been keeping a family's confidences for centuries — and unfold from there into families worth rooting for and love worth waiting on. She's always loved creativity in nearly any form it takes, and finds just as much joy in helping other people find theirs.

What the Ring Remembers is her debut novel and the first book in The Timeless Ward series.

When she isn't writing, Lyra is usually planning her next trip, curled up with a book, or elbow-deep in whatever craft project has currently taken over the house. She currently lives in Indiana with her husband, her teenage daughter, and two cats who have never once, in their entire lives, chosen the boring option when a mischievous one was available.
