Laura is a passionate reader and storyteller based in Austin, Texas. A lifelong Texan, she attended local schools and earned her degree in Roman history from the University of Texas. As a single mom balancing a busy career, Laura often found inspiration at the Texas Book Festival and always believed she had a historical fiction novel inside her—if only she could carve out the time to write it. Today, Laura shares her home with two cats, a black Great Pyrenees named Hattie, and her longtime partner, Johnny. She treasures her two sons, Matt and Mike, and lives by the motto: "Life is always interesting as long as there’s something good to read." Laura is currently at work on her next novel.
