About
BSc in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná (1984), MSc in Computer Graphics from the University of Manchester - United Kingdom (1989) and PhD in Computer Graphics from the University of Sheffield - United Kingdom (1992). He is currently a contributing lecturer and researcher in the Numerical Methods in Engineering Post-graduate Programme (master and doctoral degrees) - PPGMNE of Universidade Federal do Paraná - UFPR. At Copel - Companhia Paranaense de Energia (energy power uitlity company), he has been working in the area of energy planning since 2013, coordinating the scientific evaluation committee for the ANEEL R&D programme, and also managing and coordinating R&D projects in partnership with universities and research centres, among them the Lynx project (optimization of the hydrothermal dispatch) and the OneReal project (virtual reality and games with training application for live maintenance activities). He is a member of the Editorial Board of the NED University Journal of Research (International Journal of Applied Sciences - ISSN 1023-3873) and of the Programme Committee of the WSCG - International Conference in Central Europe on Computer Graphics. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the scientific journal Espaço Energia (ISSN: 2595-7910 & 1807-8575). He was director of the Faculty of Pure Science and Technology at "Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná" (UTP) from June 2008 to July 2011 and R&D and technological innovation consultant in the Business Development Department of Universidade Positivo (UP) from February 2012 to January 2015. He has experience in engineering, with emphasis on electroenergetic planning, computer science, with emphasis on graphics processing (Graphics), acting on the following topics: operational research, heuristic optimization, computer intelligence, scientific visualization, computer graphics, volume rendering, image processing, virtual reality, natural interfaces, pervasive computing and games. He is also involved in R&D and innovation management and strategy. He is the author of the book Mentes criativas projetos inovadores - a arte de empreender P&D e inovação (free translation: Creative minds, innovative projects - The art of undertaking R&D and innovation) by Musa Editora. He is director of the editorial board of Musa Editora´s Science, Technology and Innovation Collection. He was a fellow of "productivity in technological development and innovative extension", having held a grant (fellowship) from CNPq - the Brazilian government´s research agengy - from march 2012 to february 2015. He also developed an artistic and music work - album eiranembeira, 2007, financed by "Lei Rouanet", "Ministério da Cultura".
