About
I would say that before I finish the presentation that three things to have in mind this week is sign up for your own list. If nothing happens that's your starting point. And then for like group fiction you sign up and you generate a five welcome email sequence. You can review it, you can tweak it, you can edit it. And then you can pick whether the launch or the re-engagement but there is no need for you to build it right now but just decide what's gonna be next. So it's something that can happen in one afternoon and something that definitely in the long run we generate more sales and especially more efficiency so this is definitely something that with the compounding factor I will give you the necessary results moving on so I think right now what would make sense is if I move on a little bit on the product I know that we have a little bit more time for the product and then we can move on on the Q&A but also at the end of the session I would like to you know to also reveal a surprise that we will have for people who attended here but also for people who signed up for the event so that's kind of like the you know the home page the dashboard that you have something additional that we we added lately is the is the giveaways the author giveaways you will be able to find them at the bottom of your dashboard it's something that has been proven a very very successful a very successful feature we have already completed two actually we are completing the second this week and we completed the first one two weeks ago so the results on the first one were extremely good at least based on the feedback that we received from from the people who participated. One mistake that we have done here is that we haven't updated the page and the real answer here is that we got 1400 readers instead of 910 that you see in your screen and on average every author gained approximately 300 to 350 subscribers. The way that we build that is by curating the list so we hand pick 10 to 20 authors who are more or less similarly size and definitely on the same genre because we don't want like to you know get full with freeloaders and people who might not be interested in this type of books. So second step is that we complete everything, we prepare the promo image, we prepare the graphics and we send detailed emails with the next steps that you need to take. It's usually like a process that takes um you know between five and ten minutes for authors and I think we have some people here who participated in the first one I think we have Eve and Dineen of course if you if you're interested in uh you know sharing your experience feel free my experience was fantastic I couldn't believe my open rate and how many new subs I added I was actually not freaked out but well kind of freaked out in a good way because I've never had such a and and people really clicked through too so it wasn't just like some list builders you add a whole bunch but you know that probably at least half of those were just trying to get the prize that they were going for these people were all very they all seem very interested in the actual book so that was really exciting thank you thank and something that we're really like focusing on building up and by the way we are organizing everything by preparing like private Instagram group chats and Facebook groups in order to post results but also books and marketing tactics and that's the process kind of like we're preparing the launch email an midweek reminder a last call in may and then you get in the promo if you get in the promo kit the newsletter banners banners for your social media posts that are personalized based on the cover of the book that you're giving away. So yeah, that's the page you can you know, go to crewfiction.com giveaways in order to check it out. And this is how actually it looked this is the ongoing one. That's the page we have a couple of filters. You also have the filter of the spicy meter something that like many people are loving so far you click on a book you read more details about the book the genre is the tropes the author etc etc and then you just move on to the next page in order to add your email and you subscribe in order to get it for free now to the welcome automation. I know that you have been waiting for that and i know that this is something that we spend a lot of time during the presentation. So on the create button right now we have like four particular elements of actions let's say. You can see the welcome email sequence which is actually very similar to the email newsletter but this is something that is auto generated by us. You pick what you would like to base the welcome sequence into whether to deliver a free book or just a welcome email so let's say that i want to pick a welcome email and then as i told you one of the steps is that you need to pick between one to three types let's say that i want to pick only this book to include in my welcome automation and then our system basically consolidates data based on the book that you have built based also on previous email newsletter that you have sent in order to make it to adjust it on your own style and then in a couple of seconds as you can see the welcome sequence is getting generated the main trigger is when a subscriber is joining the mailing list then you can edit the timing on when would you like to activate it the first email is a welcome The second email is the book that you have picked earlier and then the last email is the invitation to the VIP reader so perhaps to the art team. Of course you can come in here generate the style so let's say that I want to change my theme or play with the background so either the outside or the email or you know include a header by picking up a banner or including your social media everything is connected to your site to your crew fiction site in order to save time. So that's the process and it's automatically saved on the campaigns and also something that we launched and I wanted to share with everyone here today we launched it recently is the activity of the complete so as you can see there are drafts and also published so this is one published campaign you can see analytics something that we also like tapping into on this presentation and also on the activity you see a break down of exactly what happened on this particular email who opened it and how many times who clicked. Who did not open and the people who unsubscribed so that's also part of how can you spend some time on cleaning the list that we mentioned earlier right something also important to have in mind. Very quickly on that's the author side for people who might have not seen it people who are not familiar with crew fiction we are pulling the data automatically from amazon and we're bringing here everything your books and your bio etc you can edit your genres the tropes we're also bringing automatically the reviews and your job is to just pick the words that you would like to include or not include and one more minute to just show you the subscribers here we have like the subscribers where you can like pick already determined filters over play more and dig deeper on the filters so this is something let's say the email engagement that we talked earlier about people who are not opening emails right this is a perfect way of identifying this these readers and try to re-engage them so which is relevant to the welcome to the automation number three that we spoke about we keep track of amazon activity so you can also identify who is clicking and how many times and also the source so this is the giveaway the recent giveaway you can see like how many subscribers you got from me how many you imported how many you got from back matter links etc before i pass you before i open the floor for q a I would also like to you know reveal the surprise. You know it's the giveaways has been proven like a very very good methodology of growing your list so we decided like for these for attendees of this webinar and also for people who signed up but they didn't have the chance to join we are giving an additional 17% off to people who would like to become part of new part of crew fiction and we are going to give away like a free spot on one of the upcoming giveaways. Giveaways will run every two weeks and also other authors will be joining us co-hosts in order to bring their own audience their own like offer friends and create you know very valuable and impactful giveaways. just never mind like they'll write like that's just an example do you what's say like you want to segment your your genre right like this person signed up for my dark romance books that doesn't mean they'll like my fantasy books do you guys like what the filters is that how you would kind of like okay i'm coming out with a romantic book i'm not gonna send this to my dark romance readers you know what i mean yeah absolutely yeah i mean go ahead go ahead go ahead let me know like filters can be used in various ways but like what you mentioned i think structurally different genres should be long under different pen names that's what i think on that because that also helps algorithmically amazon to promote the right books to the right audience and also for readers to pick their lane sort of and creates cross-prom opportunities between one pen name to the other pen name so just to to to clarify what i'm what i'm saying here like let's assume that somebody reads your let's say western book and you also have a mafia book right so amazon probably will start promoting like your mafia book to your uh to the readers of your western book and that will have a bad conversion rate and will not have the mafia book so i like i think it's the best to have like different names different lists for for different genres and then those two pen names can cross promote each other and like readers can know that you write in a different pen names that's fine but i think algorithmically you need to have separate identities yeah that makes sense and i know too it's like i love that you guys are all about data looking at your data and what the data says like one of my favorite things is like data over drama so you might be ah this isn't working and it's like well look at the data like one why isn't it working two like do you do you have readers that are like dark romance but they do open their roommate to see emails like i know i went to an author q a brand week she writes um like she writes serial killer dark romances so it's like serial killers who kill other serial killers she mentioned that she had like a dark academia book she started writing like years ago that she's thinking about pulling out of the drawer and i wanted to like jump out of my seat be like just publish it like i'll read whatever you write because she's such a good author um but that's like a different genre right so i think sometimes it's interesting like you might have some readers crossover from one pen name to another just because they love your writing so much they love your style so much um and brin weaver like she's funny her books are so funny and and yes they are like dark but i love how like the comedic relief in them is so gritty so um i think you know again you just kind of have to experiment like i think some genres are very different right like you mentioned tom westerns very different and so uh you know it again experiment see what happened like you might have some readers cross over you might have some that don't but it's good to keep in mind how amazon works with the algorithm you don't want to like muddle that up i guess is that a good way to put it um so yeah i think that's an interesting aspect to having different genres and such so to find like a similar readers to the one that read the book so if you feed amazon with readers that read a different genre then now they will try to find readers of that genre and that's probably not the case for that book right so yeah that's one thing and the other thing is uh in terms of um editing data another and another really like about data is that they give you a sense of progress even if you're not winning so like when you keep data you cannot lie to yourself and you cannot own it yourself so you cannot say that something doesn't work it doesn't work as much yet but if you're going my direction like this weekend i got i've got so many clips next week like 10 more like even five percent more is inspiring like you're not it's not drama it's it's data as you said yeah yeah because like i had one author i was coaching she's like i'm not making any sales and i was like i don't think so let's look at your kdp dashboard she had like a thousand patrons and three orders and i was like so is it you're not making any sales or is it you're not making as many sales as you want to right so yeah the direction is more important than your current results like are you growing or are you like becoming smaller that's a that's a correct aspect of things right like how how to think of that yeah absolutely yeah something to mention also about the subscriber that um we started this discussion um like tagging is something that is very popular as a feature and many people are asking about it and also it's worth its while to show one more thing if you see if you see my screen it's the roadmap that lorna mentioned at the beginning this is basically where we keep track of everything that's happening in the uh in the app in the platform so basically this is where you can come in suggest your ideas um vote because that little number that you see here is the number of votes that this particular idea got and based on that we prioritize uh but yeah I wanted to share that even though we started the discussion that way awesome uh really quick in the chat some people have questions on pen names if you have different pen names does crew fiction support separate pen names under one account or do you have to have separate crew fiction accounts for separate pen names yeah another great question and a question that comes very often sorry given the frequency we are also going to you know find a smarter way of incorporating multiple pennies for the time being you need one account per pen name so a different email address with a different account for a different pen name but yeah it's coming soon because that's awesome I love that oh and someone mentioned like the emails like the crew fiction domain i'm assuming that's just because this is a dummy account right but people's like actual emails would show up great assumption great assumption and a correct assumption it's uh it's for me you know to have a couple of subscribers to play on my on my part you want to be giving away people's like real information right exactly yeah totally okay cool okay Sam well if people want to sign up they want to be a part of the giveaways I know we're at the top of the hour here where should we go
