About

With five quite different daughters Mr Bennett has his work cut out to find a suitable husband for each of them, before he dies and his modest estate is inherited by William Collins.
Whilst the eldest daughter, Jane, is quickly smitten by the wealthy and influential Charles Bingley, for Elizabeth her meeting with the aloof and snobbish Mr Darcy is less congenial.
Despite being intrigued by Elizabeth, Darcy's self-importance surrounding his status encourages him to look down upon her family's own social position, while she is fiercely proud of it and sees him as merely another pompous elitist.
As he gets to know Elizabeth better, however, Darcy slowly lets go of the rules that bind him and falls in love with the intelligence and vitality she displays. But his actions surrounding her sister Jane's relationship with Charles Bingley threaten to scupper any chance he has of winning Elizabeth's hand.
Believing him to be interfering with the lives of her sisters and their potential suitors, Elizabeth rejects his own offer of marriage. But Darcy isn't finished yet.

He is determined to show Elizabeth that his actions were honourable and even more determined that they will eventually be together.
Jane Austen's timeless masterpiece is written with grace, depth and wisdom, and is an accurate portrayal of the enclosed social world she lived in, with all its narrow pride and prejudice.
