There once was a blind springer spaniel named Sage, and a wise dog was she! She provided instruction without words, gave encouragement simply through living life. Sage epitomized joy despite difficulty, courage in spite of trial, and perseverance despite obstacles, as well as many other special life lessons. Those life lessons transfer quickly to faith lessons; just as Sage could not see her owner, master, and friend, neither can we humans see our God, Savior, and Friend. Yet, Sage trusted her special person. Dogs, whether blind or sighted, need to trust their human caregivers just as we humans need to trust God. Yet, that's not always easy. No faith lesson is truly easy, but from rescued "rez dogs" to pampered pooches, pets help light the path, teaching us important lessons about life and faith.
