About
She had to find Self-Worth, to find a Love Worth Fighting For.
Violet "Vi" Sterling is running out of time with her health. At twenty-nine, her high-stress life has pushed her heart to the limit, forcing her to make a life-changing choice. She decides to abandon her family's crushing expectations and escape to a secluded lakeside cabin.
Her rustic new cabin is in ruin, so she calls in the help of a handyman, Cal Redfern, a charming local with a calming presence and a mysterious past as guarded as the dense surrounding forest. Cal becomes a steady anchor Vi desperately needs, but his secrets risk shattering the fragile new life they are building.
As Vi uncovers a betrayal that runs deeper than she ever imagined, she must decide if she can trust the man who saved her - or if Cal's hidden identity is the start of a family drama more explosive than the one she left behind.
As she learns to love herself, is that enough to build a life of love, resilience, and redemption? Together, they face family drama, uncover deep-seated secrets, and honor a heartfelt legacy. They find ways to bind their loved ones in unexpected ways. With themes of healing, second chances, and personal growth, the story weaves intimate moments, emotional challenges, and swoon-worthy romance into a heartwarming tale of partnership and belonging.

Author's Note: I wrote this as a Slow Burn Love Story. After a brutal divorce from a 27-year marriage, my therapist suggested that I picture what a healthy relationship would look like and how conversations should be. After much discussion and therapy, this book was born with my therapist's help. Since then, other therapists have said that they recommend this book to their patients who need to find self-worth.
Reviews -
5.0 out of 5 stars Meaningful and inspiring!
Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2025 - I was attracted to this book by its charming cover and title and am so glad I read it. It addressed family conflicts in a very nuanced way. I was quite impressed with how the heroine and hero dealt with sensitive issues among the family. Especially the hero, who was both honest and kind in facing problems directly. If only such effective communication skills were more often seen in real life! I also found the author's descriptive abilities to be impressive. As I read, I felt almost as if I were standing on the porch at Blue Haven, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and gazing at the lake. I encourage others to give this a try and am hopeful to see further books from this talented author.
