My name is Jessie, and I’m the Demon of Pain. Not a job or a calling that I ever wanted, but here we are.

I’m being hunted. Belongings have been destroyed. Cars have been destroyed. Houses have been destroyed. All due to someone hunting me.

Except now they’re hunting more than me.

When Sarah, Jen, and Trina are added to the list, it’s time for us to turn the tables and go on the hunt ourselves. Enough hiding. Enough running. We’ve been battered and bruised and forced to hide away…and it’s time for that to stop.

If only we could do it without risking everything and everyone I hold dear.

My name is Sarah, and I’m…a demon. I’m a demon without a name residing in the body of an eight-inch-tall doll. Yarn hair and button eyes and everything.

And I have a calling.

Magic users feel called to things that connect with their magic. Someone that focuses on plants may feel a called to touch a wand of growth. For me? I have a nebulous feeling in my chest that someone or something out there is calling me.

What will I find?

I wish I knew. I only know that I have to go and find it.

On my own.

I’ll be leaving Jessie behind for the first time since she brought me to life, and that’s filling me with fear.

And yet the call continues.

What will I find? Will I find my name? My calling?

I can hope. I can dream. And then I pray I can find my way back home; to Jessie.
