My life has been nothing like I envisioned growing up.

In less than a day, I went from a captive, held in three rooms surrounded by mirrors and lights to…the new me. I’m a freak of a person that should be a celestial. Instead, I’m not and I don’t know why.

My body is strange. My magic is strange. And my fellow students can see it.

What’s more? I’ve been warned by my former best friend that a hunter is here. Hunting for me.

Now I have a head full of confusion that’s being crowded with fears of a worldwide hunter organization that may be looking to kill me.

I’m too young for these kinds of problems, yet the world doesn’t care. While I should have been a celestial and gone with my mom back to her plane, I didn’t. I’m not. Which leaves me here surrounded by people that don’t understand me, a group that wants to kill me, and then me left in the middle.

All of which is made worse by my father’s girlfriend and bullies in school.

Can I push through the endless opportunities to fail and come out successful? I hope so. I really do. My name is Sonni, and my mom didn’t raise a quitter. Someone willing to let others win because things get too hard. She raised a fighter. She raised a celestial.

Too bad a quirk of fate decided that I’m something else entirely.
