My name is Gabby, Deputy Handler Gabby Johanson. I’m assigned to my Handler, Koby, and it’s our job to intervene when supernaturals start to get dangerous. You know how it is, spells to hurt people, summoning demons, fighting. All sorts of things.

Oh, and I’m a demon.

I swear, I was thought I was a pretty normal kid growing up, although I thought I was a blood mage. Yeah, turns out I’ve been a half demon since birth…then a vampire attacked and turned me, and now I’m a full demon.

We’re still not sure how that worked, although we have our theories.

I’ve been on the job with Koby for three months, and I’m starting to love the work. I’m powerful enough to push back and not have to do it, but it calls to me in ways I never would have expected.

When we’re sent to Raleigh to look into a string of seemingly random car burnings, petty vandalism, and internet threats, everything gets put on the line as the case quickly expands to include a possible blood mage in the area.

Just what I need. A possible magic user growing more insane by the day, all heading up to a cataclysmic release of magic that tends to kill others at the same time it kills them.

Can we solve the case and save the blood mage? Only time will tell as we do everything possible to make it out of this alive.
