About

Learning to live as a vampire is a difficult task. The movies and books overlook much of what’s required to fit in, all the while presenting what they’re relaying as facts. Instead, when you’re turned, you need to learn your place as a vampire. I just wish the learning didn’t come with quite so much torture.

My name is Alissa, and I’m a fledgling vampire. My sire died when I was changed in a freak accident, and now I’m living with Mistress Iva. My grandmother. She has a talent for raising fledglings and setting them free.

And now I answer to her.

My friendship with Andrea in school is expanding, as is our overall circle of friends. Something I never really had much of prior to being murdered. Now that I’m working to change my life, I’m finding that I enjoy having people in my life in a big way.

And yet I still have so much to learn.

Especially when my parents hire someone to hunt for me in school, which leads to even more changes in my life. With my life in flux and even more changing than I ever expected, can I make it through? I hope so. I’m only 17 and have died once already. Here’s to staying alive and learning my place.

Please note - This book is recommended for 18+ due to violence and sexual situations.
