André Aciman is an American memoirist, essayist, and New York Times bestselling novelist originally from Alexandria, Egypt. His notable works include the memoir 'Out of Egypt' and novels such as 'Call Me By Your Name', 'Eight White Nights', 'Harvard Square', and 'Enigma Variations'. Aciman has been translated into various languages and has received several awards, including the Whiting Award for his memoir and the Lambda Literary Award for Men's Fiction for 'Call Me By Your Name'. He holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Harvard University and is a Distinguished Professor of Comparative Literature at The Graduate Center of The City University of New York, where he also directs The Writers' Institute and chairs the Ph.D. Program in Comparative Literature.
