A F Letcher

About

A.F. Letcher, a Southern California native, is a riveting storyteller and a passionate advocate for inclusive history. The inspiration for her literary journey originated from an observation; she noticed that her three children and nieces and nephews only learned about prominent figures such as Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks during Black History Month. Seeking to address this gap, she started penning narratives highlighting lesser-known yet significant African American achievers, such as the traffic light inventor and the pioneer of the first open-heart surgery. When she isn't crafting immersive narratives that resonate with young minds, Letcher cherishes her time with her family. Married to her high school sweetheart, a retired Navy veteran, she navigates the labyrinth of life, drawing strength from his unwavering support. Her abode echoes with the laughter of her three exceptional children, each a source of constant motivation and love. With her debut novel, Letcher has set the stage for a promising series of stories digging deeper into Black history's untold tales. But this is just the beginning. As A.F. Letcher, she is committed to continuing her mission of highlighting overlooked figures, demonstrating to young readers that heroes come in many forms and that everyone has the potential to make a significant impact on the world. She aspires to create a generation of readers who appreciate the diverse contributions to history, inspired by the stories she tells and the love for writing she so evidently possesses.
