Nikki Auberkett is a cultural anthropologist with expertise in archaeology and global folklore. She integrates real-world discoveries and intercultural theories into her fictional works, combining fantasy storytelling with "what if?" concepts. Her debut novel, "Prax," was a finalist in the 2022 Page Turner Book Awards and was long-listed in the 2023 Page Turner Book Awards. Her book "Ithandryll" was long-listed in the same awards in 2023, received an Honorable Mention in the 2023 Readers' Favorite Book Awards, and earned 5-star reviews from both Readers' Favorite and Midwest Book Review. Nikki is also a graduate of the Institute for Children's Literature, a former copy editor for the Irish Journal of Anthropology, and a developmental editor for several award-winning and bestselling independent fiction novels. After living in Chicago during the pandemic, she relocated to Iowa's Amana Colonies. She started BumbleBooks, an indie bookstore currently operating as a pop-up in Serenity Sage, an herbs & tea shop.
