Charlotte Brontë was born in 1816 in Thornton, Yorkshire. She was the third child of Patrick and Maria Brontë. After her mother's death in 1821, Charlotte pursued a career in education, working as a teacher and governess. She studied languages in Brussels with her sister Emily in 1842. Charlotte's notable work, 'Jane Eyre', was published in 1847 and met with immediate success. She experienced profound personal losses with the deaths of her siblings Branwell, Emily, and Anne between 1848 and 1849. Charlotte married Revd A. B Nicholls in 1854 but passed away in 1855.
