I read this book SO FAST! I could not put it down. I fell in love with Lou and Jace, who were the sweetest! They are kind human beings who, while having faults and problems, are moving forward the best they can. I also LOVE that they have full families and lives. They aren’t these sole creatures without any connections. Their connections and how that shapes them and story it brilliant.
This was a new to me author that recently found out about after seeing their post on threads, then getting an email that I had won a contest and had received an advanced copy of this book. I was absolutely obsessed with this story. And I absolutely loved it. It had so many funny moments that kept me in stitches, and i enjoyed the writing of the story as well as the flow of it. It was one of those stories that you absolutely don't want to put down until you're finished with it. I will be checking out the author's back list and I can't wait for the her next book.I received a copy of the book via the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opnions.
This is conclusion to the duet Fakeout with Jace and Lou. Fakeout ended with a bombshell. I could not wait to see how everything worked out. There are several obstacles put in their path. Not to mention the miscommunications that happened throughout the book. I found myself wanting to throw down with one particular character but was more than satisfied with the ending.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!I am voluntarily leaving this review.
This book tugged on my heart strings from the start. Mason & Tatum are everything! Representation at its peak in this read; life after loss, mental health, surviving a narcissist & much more. I connected with Tatum from chapter one & rose that rollercoaster to the very end. This has easily become a read I know I’ll go back to without a doubt.
A public breakup after nine years! And the cherry on top? He kicks her out.All Tatum wants to do is head back to her loved ones in Rosa Oaks.Mason's a single dad who has a crush on his best friend's younger sister. Mason wanted to talk to her before but at the time, she was with someone else. Well now she's single and his daughter is away at her grandparents so he can devote his time to her completely. As they talk, she doesn't know why but she feels like she can bare her soul to him, and she does. He makes her feel like she's never felt before. Special, free spirited, beautiful and good about herself as a woman. And soon, the firefighter turns a spark into a four alarm fire!He wakes the next morning to find her gone. Was she just using him for a rebounder?Tatum is thinking that she just needs to get her head together and Mason, well Mason was just something, someone she needed at the time. She's only staying for a month. Maybe they could keep it light and just both enjoy it?When she suggests it to him, he's all for the plan. When by chance a job opportunity opens up for her, can two broken hearts trust enough again to realize that it's more than a fling? If they do, can true love strike twice in one's life? These two are just what each other needs. It's a shame what she went through waiting for love and I'm so glad she found herself and voiced what she wanted as well as treatment she wouldn't accept.I fell in love with Mason and I really liked how he treated her and made her feel. When he spoke up for her, he should have stepped up too instead of ghosting her. He lost a few points with me for that one but he redeemed himself.Sometimes, more often than not, in-laws need to butt out, but since they worked it out, it ended in an HEA.I enjoyed their story and I recommend this one!
After reading Fakeout, I knew I needed more. This book was the perfect conclusion after that cliffhanger. Teralyn Mitchell wrote a sweet and steamy duet that touches on all the emotions. I truly felt the love that Lou had for Jace, even after finding out the news that transpired at the end of Fakeout. But I hated how Lou's family treated her throughout both books, but loved that she had some family members in her corner who welcomed Jace into their family. Can't wait to read more books by Teralyn!
