“There isn’t anything that anyone has written that can express how I feel about you, Holly,” is probably one of my favorite quotes from this book. It was short, sweet, a little bit spicy, and a smidgen of angst; the perfect mixture for me.

Sometimes life throws us lemons 🍋 and we do our best to make lemonade! Daphne struggles on how to provide but when it gets to much she did the unthinkable. And in the process she found true love. Zander was such a gentleman and his friend Clifford, was too over protective! Can they make this work? Loved this quick read! Maybe there is a sugar daddy out there for all of us….

Caleb and Holly meet when he enters her bakery to escape paparazzi. His decision to hold a party there will save her store, but what of their hearts. Loved the characters, their backstories, personalities and entertaining situations. The tension and laughs keep the pages turning until the end. Totally enjoyed the book.

I absolutely devoured this book. I am talking I started it and did not put it down until I finished. I think there is just something about Mimi's writing style that makes it so you feel like you are watching a movie rather than just simply reading words on a page. The story truly comes to life and it doesn't take long before you feel attached to the characters and their stories which I think is so special. I loved the fact that we were introduced pretty quickly to the characters and their love story. I also found it refreshing that while this was sort of a "taboo" romance in a sense, it wasn't crossing the lines many other books cross so it still felt wholesome and like a genuine love story. I also loved how this world was a continuation of the last book, and how we also saw familiar characters and nods to the previous storyline. I think all in all the twists and the end were simultaneously unexpected while also worked just so well together. Overall I thought that this book was truly an enjoyable read and I think that this author is truly such a great writer. She knows how to balance steam and romance in a way that just works.

I absolutely love this book! I started and finished it pretty much in one sitting. I was hooked right away. I love both Cecily and Lincoln. Their chemistry was instant and I loved it.

Love these kinds of stories. Supposed to be a short term thing. Also the fake dating trope too?? I absolutely eat that stuff up!! I love how Cecily is just like many of us women. Not someone who is just thin and doesn’t worry about being a little self conscious about herself. Many of us feel that way. Love how Lincoln makes it so she can be herself and more confident.

You can feel the struggle that she had to deal with. Her father and a horrible ex fiancé. Fighting to get out of their control.

I just can’t get enough of this book! First time reading from this author. Can’t wait to read more!

I was captivated right from the start. Taken by the monster written by Mimi Francis is the first book I have read from this author. I was excited to see it's book one of a series. This is the story of Olivia Miller aka Liv O Reilly and Declan Deck Quinn.These two characters had me in tears. Olivia was on the run from her arranged marriage to phyco monster. When Declan steps in to the back where Olivia is working as a teller. When they Rob the back his name is mentioned by one of men. Declan has no choice but to take Olivia. What blew my mind. Olivia and Declan have history eight years ago they were in love. This is the second chance they both get to fall in love all over again. I was on the edge of my seat when Olivia is kidnapped but was fascinated by Declan. The ending was beautiful. It is definitely a must read. I am looking forward to the next book.

Serena and Van are two very broken souls and are doing everything they can to run away from their trauma. In hiding away from the world, they find solace in one another, but the road ahead is littered with obstacles, especially when the very person Serena is running from shows up hellbent on getting her back.

I devoured this in one sitting; laughing and crying and fanning myself the entire way. I was deeply invested in Serena and Van's journey and can't wait to read it again and, hopefully, see more of these two in future Lakeside entries.
