I thoroughly enjoyed the overall plot of this book. However, I found the main female character to be quite annoying. I believe most readers would share a similar sentiment, as she experiences various situations throughout the book. The transitions between chapters felt a bit abrupt, and the information about the fantasy world was presented in a disjointed manner. Nevertheless, I believe this was intentional. The author aimed to create a sense of frustration that the main female character experiences throughout the book. There’s no clear romantic element, so I wouldn’t categorize it as a slow burn. Instead, it’s more like sudden, brief romantic encounters. Since I enjoyed the plot and am eager to see what happens next, I’m giving this book a four out of five stars.
